Senior Investment Associate (Research)
Boutique international investment advisor to sophisticated investors looking for a research-focused Senior Investment Associate to join the talented team located in our Boston office.
Investment Origination, Execution and Monitoring (80%): You will initially be allocated to one of three asset class teams: Private Markets, Absolute Return and Credit, or Global Equities. As part of the team you will be responsible for researching and identifying promising investment theses and subsequently conducting due diligence on asset managers who, once approved through our investment process, would deploy our clients’ capital. Once a manager is approved, the decision of whether to allocate to it is made by the individual client portfolio management teams. Manager due diligence will result in you having exposure and direct access to some of the most seasoned and high-quality asset managers in the world. As such we expect our senior investment associates to display a significant level of maturity and gravitas. Over time you will be expected to develop one or more specialist areas of expertise, manage relationships with managers in those areas and be able to identify and sponsor new investments in those areas through the investment process.
Other (20%): In addition to the above, you will, for variety, take on other activities and projects, which might include: portfolio management, coaching and mentoring junior colleagues, interviewing Investment Associate candidates, participating in pitches to prospective clients, co-authoring investment strategy White Papers and helping to develop our technological capabilities.
We are looking for intellectually curious team players with a strong desire to further our reputation for excellence. You will have good problem-solving and interpersonal skills and thrive in a collaborative working environment. You need not have worked within the investment management industry, but you will have worked for a number of years in a professional services role (e.g., within management consulting, investment banking, or accounting) and have a passion for investing. You will have an undergraduate degree from a top institution, with a strong record of academic achievement. As we are proponents of lifelong learning, you will be keen to commit to further professional development including the CFA qualification, which we will support. If you believe you have some (or all) of these attributes and are looking to fulfill your potential in an intellectually engaging career with good long-term progression prospects in a growing firm, we encourage you to apply.
We offer a competitive package including long term performance related incentives.
